Report overview
When the control and improvement of the engine reaches a certain emission level, the catalytic converter is necessary to meet further strict emission regulations. Usually the catalytic converters used in gasoline and diesel engines are different. The early catalytic converters of gasoline engines were only two-effect (two-bed), that is, only CO and HC were processed. With the stricter emission regulations and restrictions on NOx in various countries, three-way catalytic converters (three-way catalytic converters) are now used. When the exhaust gas passes through the catalytic converter, under the catalysis of these catalysts, CO and HC undergo a chemical reaction with O2 (called an oxidation reaction), so that HC generates H2O, CO becomes CO2, and NOx is reduced to O2 and N2.
